HISTORY
The history of Lumambayan and Pinamalayan used to begin with the legend of the rainbow with the accounts of the town before the Marinduque settlers either rejected or taken seriously. Local histories written identified the beginning of Lumambayan with the migration of the said settlers and typified the course of its development with the enterprises of settling Marinduque elites including Morente’s, Madrigal’s, Benitezes, Aguiluchos and the Medinas. Nevertheless, the unavailability of sufficient historical records limits the written scope of its history.
